An expedition-style trekking and cultural tour to Mongolia’s highest peaks, largest glaciers, and the home of the Kazakh Eagle Hunters.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Explore the detailed journey through Mongolia’s most stunning landscapes

Day 1 — Arrival in UB → Fly to Ölgii

Morning flight from Ulaanbaatar to Ölgii.

Visit the Ölgii Local History Museum and local market.

Overnight: Hotel/Ger Camp in Ölgii.

Day 2 — Ölgii → Tavan Bogd Base Camp (via Tsagaan Gol)

Day 2 — Ölgii → Tavan Bogd Base Camp (via Tsagaan Gol)

Day 3 — Tavan Bogd Base Camp → Trek to Malchin Peak Base Camp

4-6 hour trek deeper into the Tavan Bogd massif.

Luggage transported by support vehicle/pack animals.

Overnight: Tented Camp at Malchin Peak Base Camp.

Day 4 — Ascend Malchin Peak → Return to Main Base Camp

6-8 hour non-technical climb to the summit of Malchin Peak (4,027 m).

Enjoy panoramic views of Mongolia, Russia, China, and the Potanin Glacier.

Overnight: Tented Camp at main base camp.

Day 5 — Explore Potanin Glacier → Return Trek

Day 6 — Tavan Bogd → Khoton & Khurgan Lakes

3-4 hour drive to the pristine twin lakes.

Activities: hiking, fishing (with a license), or relaxing.

Overnight: Tented Camp by the lake..

Day 7 — Khoton Lake → Ölgii & Eagle Hunter Preview

4-5 hour drive back to Ölgii.

Possible private eagle hunting demonstration and farewell dinner.

Overnight: Hotel/Ger Camp in Ölgii.

Day 8 — Ölgii → Fly to UB → International Departure

Morning flight to Ulaanbaatar and connect with international flight.

Price Breakdown

Physical Fitness: Strenuous. Requires very good physical condition and prior hiking experience, preferably at altitude. Be aware of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS).

Best Time: Mid-June to Mid-September.
