Route Overview (July 1 – July 8)

This route takes you deep into Mongolia’s eastern heartland—the homeland of Genghis Khan and the cradle of Mongolia’s independence movement. It passes through pristine forests, sacred monasteries, historical monuments, and the endless eastern steppe.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Explore the detailed journey through Mongolia’s most stunning landscapes

Day 1 — UB → Binder (Khentii)

4-5 hour drive northeast into the Khentii Mountain Range.

Visit a nomadic family in the Binder area.

Overnight: Tourist Ger Camp or Family Ger Homestay

Day 2 — Binder → Baldan Bereeven Monastery

2-3 hour off-road drive.

Explore the ruins of the vast Baldan Bereeven Monastery in a sacred valley.

Overnight: Tourist Ger Camp near the monastery or in Binder.

Day 3 — Binder → Dadal (Birthplace of Genghis Khan)

4-5 hour rough terrain drive.

Arrive in Dadal, visit the Genghis Khan Monument and Deluun Boldog birthplace site.

Overnight: Tourist Ger Camp or Family Ger Homestay.

Day 4 — Explore Dadal Region

Full-day activities: horseback riding, visiting a Kazakh Eagle Hunter family, hiking, fishing at Khökh Nuur (Blue Lake).

Overnight: Tourist Ger Camp or Family Ger Homestay.

Day 5 — Dadal → Baruun-Urt (Sukhbaatar)

5-6 hour drive southeast to the vast Eastern Steppe.

Arrive in Baruun-Urt, the provincial capital.

Overnight: Simple Local Hotel or Ger Camp.

Day 6 Baruun-Urt Mönkhkhaan & Ongon Khairkhan Mountains

2-3 hour drive.

Visit the sacred Mönkhkhaan and Ongon Khairkhan mountains, rich with ancient burial sites.

Overnight: Tourist Ger Camp.

Day 7 Mönkhkhaan Ulaanbaatar (via Sainshand)

Long transit drive, with a possible stop at Khamar Monastery and Danzan Ravjaa Museum in Sainshand.

Overnight: Hotel in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 8 Departure from Ulaanbaatar

Transfer to the airport for departure.
