Day-by-Day Itinerary
Explore the detailed journey through Mongolia’s most stunning landscapes
4-5 hour drive south.
Explore granite rock formations, ancient ruins, and visit a camel breeder family.
Overnight: Tourist Ger Camp or Family Ger Camp.
5-6 hour drive through arid terrain.
Visit the stunning Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa) cliff formation.
Overnight: Tourist Ger Camp.
3-4 hour drive to Dalanzadgad, then to Yolyn Am gorge.
Hike through the deep canyon, often with ice, and visit the Gobi Museum.
Overnight: Tourist Ger Camp.
4-5 hour drive through desert scenery.
Arrive at the “Singing Sand Dunes” (Khongoryn Els).
Overnight: Tourist Ger Camp.
Full day of activities: camel trekking, climbing the dunes, visiting a nomadic family.
Overnight: Tourist Ger Camp.
3-4 hour drive north.
Explore the world-famous Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs, a prime dinosaur fossil site.
Overnight: Tourist Ger Camp near Bayanzag.
Visit the ruins of Ongi Monastery.
Long drive back to UB or take an optional flight from Dalanzadgad (recommended).
Overnight: Hotel in Ulaanbaatar or departure.
